Randi (nicknamed "Java") is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She holds numerous other NASM specialist certifications, including Corrective Exercise, Fitness Nutrition, Weight Loss, Group Personal Training, and Virtual Coaching. Believing that mindfulness and diversity of movement are essential to a well-rounded fitness program (and that everyone needs to dance more in life), Randi is also certified in Yoga, Zumba, and TRX Suspension Training. Randi holds a B.A. in Psychology and French Language and Literature from Boston University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She is trained in adult and child CPR and AED and is a member of the IDEA Health and Fitness Association.
In 2010, after 15 years of practicing international law and teaching fitness in her "free time," Randi founded Java Fitness. Now a full-time fitness and wellness coach (with special interests in obesity and healthy aging), Randi is uniquely qualified to support her clients in finding a balance that works for them.
Our philosophy at Java Fitness is that exercise and thoughtful nutrition are central to long-lasting wellness. Exercise is our fountain of youth. True fitness is not about how you look. It is, instead, about strength, mobility, confidence, and taking control of your health and your body (physically and emotionally)--as best you can within your unique, genetic blueprint. Regardless of your health and fitness goals, we believe the journey should be as enjoyable as the accomplishments. We would love to join you on your ride!
JAVA BOOTCAMP: An intensive and effective interval training class. We use body weight, dumbbells, and various other equipment to challenge your body to make gains in strength, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular and strength endurance, flexibility, agility, and quickness. We work you hard, in creative ways, and may sometimes even make you laugh! All levels welcome.
EXPRESSO: A 30-minute, online class designed to give you a full-body workout and let you get on with your day. We use a variety of indoor equipment to ensure we address several muscle groups in each class, and we add a spice of cardio whenever possible! Great way to start the day or squeeze an effective workout into a busy schedule.
RISTRETTO: Our shortest workout, 20-minutes. These workouts are designed to fit into any schedule. The workouts can vary from full-body to a specific focus. Pick what you need and get back to your other commitments.
